Autumn Fundriasing Appeal & Looking Ahead to Fall 2017

Hello Outpost Friends! It's been a great summer – The 12th Annual New Mexico Jazz Festival was as good, if not better, than ever with a wide variety of acts and venues (even an inaugural John Lewis Youth Piano Competition) and some great new partnerships, including our closing concert with René Marie at the beautiful African American Performing Arts Center. Plus, our 22nd Annual Summer Thursday Jazz Nights featuring so many amazing New Mexico based talent was terrific. But, as always, it was also an EXPENSIVE SUMMER! When ticket sales only account for 25% of our income, WE RELY ON YOUR SUPPORT to do what we do— to pay artists and staff, to pay for utilities, to keep tickets affordable, to offer inexpensive classes for youth and adults, to hire local teens to play at our monthly Roust the House Teen Performance Nights, to mount visual arts exhibits in our Inpost Artspace, and so on. All classes are taught by the Outpost team comprising saxophonist, Kanoa Kaluhiwa; percussionist/trombonist, César Bauvallet; and pianist, Jim Ahrend.
